83 Days to go. I’m relaxed right now and enjoying the training runs. The reality that I am going to be competing in the 2013 NYC Marathon hasn’t fully registered. Occasionally I have moments of doubt and worry that I might not be ready, but I have faith in my training plan.

NH Seacoast
Mile 3 of Bike Route

This week started with a nice 21 mile bike ride through the NH seacoast area. I feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the country. I look forward to the cross training days on my bike. I have a chance to rest while still gaining endurance, and extend my range into new areas beyond my regular running routes.

The intervals were tough. I chose to run 3 x 1 mile repeats with a mile recovery in between. I purposely chose a hilly section for this workout. From what I have gathered, the bridges can be a troublesome climb for runners at NYC.

The rest of the week was mostly base mileage and time on my feet. I am starting to feel a bit more at ease with the distances. Next week, the long run is 14 miles. That seems significant in the fact that it pushes beyond the 1/2 marathon distance for the first time in the training plan.

Good luck in your training next week!
