Monday was a rest day. After the week 7 mileage increase I needed a break.

Tuesday was the only quick day of the week. I ran 6 with a couple of 6:30 miles in the middle of the run.

Wednesday through Saturday I ran a series of regular runs at about a 7:45 pace. I wanted to get good quality miles at a comfortable pace so that I’d still have some gas in the tank for Sunday’s half marathon in Freeport, ME.

Sunday’s race was a new PR on a hilly course. I ran about a 7:03 pace overall. Since NYC will be my first marathon, I have no real way to tell how that will translate to the marathon distance. My primary goal is to finish the race, but a 7:25 pace would get me into Boston in 2015.

Noticed some tightness in the IT band the last couple of weeks. Need to focus on TLC: ice, compression, stretching, foam rolling, etc.
