Arc’teryx Soleus shorts will improve your running experience. The featherweight comfort of the Soleus shorts will enable you to run longer, faster, and without distraction. When I run, I want to forget that I’m wearing anything at all. These shorts made me forget.
Arc’teryx Soleus shorts utilize a lightweight (4.9 oz), moisture-wicking, breathable nylon material called Invigor LT. Yesterday, after a hot, humid, 8-mile run in southwest Florida, I jumped in the pool with my Arc’teryx Soleus shorts on and they were dry again within minutes.
The Arc’teryx Soleus shorts have a mesh inner brief to keep things in order, and allow for air circulation and ventilation. While this can be an issue in some shorts, I’m happy to report that it did not cause any irritation where the liner meets the body. You won’t have to worry about wearing underwear underneath these shorts.
The seams are flat locked and the waist band is wide and comfortable with a drawstring that provides a secure fit. There is a side split to provide comfort and allow for an easy stride. The inseam runs about 5.5″ in the medium size shorts that I wear. Not so short that you have to run in the dark, but not any longer than they need to be. Runners will feel free and enjoy the freedom of movement.
The Arc’teryx Soleus shorts were designed for utility as well. There are 5 pockets for carrying water or fuel with you on your run- 2 hip stash pockets in front, and three stretch mesh pockets in the rear. In addition to being lightweight and comfortable, these shorts are perfect for the endurance runner. No need to carry a bulky fuel belt! If I had the Arc’teryx Soleus shorts last November, I probably would have shaved ten minutes off my NYC Marathon time and refueled properly.
If you are looking for a new pair of running shorts this spring, I’d definitely recommend checking out the new Soleus shorts by Arc’teryx.
