Week Seven: Aug 25 – Aug 31 Recap
There are only 62 days left until the 2014 TCS New York City Marathon! Most runners are approaching the halfway point in their 16-week NYC marathon training programs. This is a good time to reflect on your progress and review your race day goals. Are you on track? Is your goal time realistic? Do you feel like you can crank it up a notch? What hurts?
My workout of the week was an 8 mile run with 15 minutes of warm-up, 3 x 7:00 at 10K pace with 2 min. recovery, and 15 minutes of cool down. It was a demanding run, but it felt really good to clear the cobwebs with a bit of speed after all the slow miles. Remember, if you run long slow miles all the time, you’ll become really good at one thing: running long slow miles. So mix it up.
