Women’s Asics Gel Kayano 20 Running Shoe
I’ve run about 70 miles in the Asics Gel Kayano 20’s and they’re my new favorite running shoe, especially for longer runs. My first reaction when I put them on was: “Wow! These are really comfortable.” Asics nailed it with their “Fluid Fit” that provides just the right amount of support for my whole foot but without any extra strapping that might cause friction with repeated foot movements. The meshy material allows for comfortable movement and the Fluid Fit helps hold the shape.
Like the Asics GT1000s, the Gel Kayano 20s also has a Guidance Line on the tread and I’ve truly found that my stride has improved. The Gel Kayano 20s have what Asics calls “Dynamic Duomax” and “Fluid Ride.” Whatever that technology is, it’s working. I’ve worn them on a few long runs and they are the most comfortable shoes ever!
I attribute that to the flexible support around my foot, cushioning around the sides of the heel and the gel with the right amount of give for the landing. I’d highly recommend the Asics Gel Kayano 20s, especially for the distance runner. I’m planning on wearing them when I run my first marathon, the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. next month.
Asics offers the Gel Kayano 20’s in a variety of colors and whether you want a flashy, shimmery design or a less “hey look at me” shoe, you’ll be able to find one to match your style. The shoes are a bit pricey at $160, but the Asics Gel Kayano is a fan favorite for good reason.
