Brooks Ghost 7

The new Brooks Ghost 7 is a lightweight trainer made to protect your feet and keep you comfortable mile after mile. This is an ideal shoe for beginners and a great recovery shoe for competitive runners. This rad shoe looks like a tiger and purrs like a kitten.

The outsole of the Brooks Ghost 7 is both stylish and functional. The horseshoe-shaped crash pad, the oversized lugs, and the omega grooves in the forefoot work together to provide cushioning, grip, and a smooth heel-to-toe transition. On the messy winter roads, the Brooks Ghost 7 performs like a dream.

Brooks Ghost 7 weighs in at a scant 10.4 ounces. Brooks made this model even more ghostly by replacing the gel drop-in found in the heel of the Ghost 6 for a blended foam composite found in the Brooks Glycerin. The total heel to toe drop is 11mm.

Road Test

I took the Brooks Ghost 7 out for a frigid and hilly 10 mile run, a 6-mile tempo workout on sloppy winter roads, and an easy 5-mile recovery run. I was pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness on my tempo run and the comfort during my recovery run. This shoe is a great all-purpose trainer.

It fits nicely from heel to toe, looks good, and has a rugged outsole made for heavy miles on the roads. The Brooks Ghost 7 is similar to the Mizuno Wave Rider 18 or the ASICS GT-1000.
