The calendar says it’s springtime and I needed a few new pieces of activewear to help me get re-motivated and inspired to ramp up the training in prep for spring and summer races.  Sometimes just a few new pieces of gear is all you need to get out the door.

I recently ordered a Lands’ End Activewear Hooded Top and it’s perfect for spring.  It’s light-weight, long-sleeved and hooded which is great for transitioning from winter layers to minimal summer training gear.  I have the “fresh melon” color and it’s just right for springtime.  I intended for it to be my top layer for spring runs, but it’s actually so comfortable that I’m grabbing it every time it’s clean.

It’s made of lightweight fabric that includes just the right amount of stretch (11% spandex).  The hood lays flat and the neckline is not tight at all.  I also like the front pocket and thumb-holes.  This comfortable, yet feminine, top is a great addition to your closet and you can use it as part of your training gear or as a go-to shirt for every day.

Lands’ End also has a great Women’s Activewear Control Tank Top.  This staple is available in cool blue, cantaloupe, jade and black.  It’s also made of the right blend of nylon and spandex with beautiful color accents and seams on the sides.  It’s very comfortable, but I found that you still need to wear a sports bra.  I’ve worn this during training and I plan to wear it at my next race.

Lands’ End also has a super cute Activewear Dress available in a cool blue or sharp black.  This dress is made of nylon and spandex for just the right amount of smoothness and stretch.  I’m not sure I’d run in it without a pair of shorts under, but I think it’d be great for post-race attire.  It’s cute and sporty.

If you’re having trouble motivating yourself to get back into it, try adding a couple new pieces of gear to your training attire.  You deserve it.

Does new gear inspire you? What helps you get out the door?
